Peak life
This year was a rocky plateau.  Stock market charts would be an appropriate parallel in charting my perspective on the events of this year.  If I get to an old age and hover over my life’s graph, then the rocky plateau of this year would be just a curve because zooming out means a wider perspective.  Then, events I catastrophized in my head would seem like momentary lapses of judgement...

back to the future
I am convinced that someone will invent a machine to trace the narrative residue of family histories through DNA (like the Animus in Assassins Creed).  At that point, I wouldn’t care what happens 100 or a 1000 years into the future.  I’d like to know what happened to my part of the family tree 30,000 years ago.  Next year, I’m going to buy the DNA analysis kit from The...

Nation time
I love long songs. A Love Supreme Pt. 3/Pursuance & Pt.4/Psalm: 17min 50sec. Empires rise and fall in such a span of time. Coltrane’s rendition of “My Favorite Things” is almost 14 minutes. John Legend and the Roots Cover of Bill Wither’s “I Can’t Write Left Handed” is 11 min 43 sec. I bet someone can fall in love with a person and then hate them with...
